Haledon, NJ – Haledon Mayor Domenick Stampone put out the following statement on the resignation of Passaic County Sheriff Jerry Speziale:

Sheriff Jerry Speziale has done a magnificent job over the last nine years managing the Sheriff’s Department, decreasing crime rates throughout the County, and aiding local officials in keeping our children and families safe. Passaic County’s loss is the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey’s gain. His expertise, energy, and passion for law enforcement will be missed.

Crews beginning work on relining Haledon's leaky sewers

HALEDON — A fix is in sight for a decades-old saga of raw sewage backups into basements and polluted runoff to the Passaic River.

Repairs to leaky sewer lines near the Roe Street Field will begin within weeks. The borough awarded a contract to the Rahway-based Allstate Power-Vac in April and preliminary site work started July 27.

Haledon, NJ – On July 23rd, 2010 Haledon Mayor Domenick Stampone penned a letter to the Chairman of the Passaic County Improvement Authority, Dennis F. Marco, to request the creation of a task force to explore shared services agreements in Passaic County. Mayor Stampone is asking the local mayors of Prospect Park, North Haledon, Hawthorne, Paterson, Wayne, and Totowa to rise above partisan politics and begin working together in the best interests of our taxpayers and families.
