Continued progress in community a major theme for endorsements
May 17, 2010
Haledon, NJ – Today Haledon Councilmen Michael Tirri and Reynaldo Martinez, and Councilwoman Heather Kilminster endorsed Mayor Domenick Stampone, Council President Maha Kandis, and council candidates Mounir Almaita and Michael Johnson in the June 8th Democratic Primary.
“Six years ago, Mayor Stampone and I ran our first campaign together with a new vision for Haledon – one that's produced concrete results,” stated Tirri. “Haledon has seen renewed investment, efforts to improve quality of life in our community through more stringent property maintenance, and practiced responsible fiscal management of our budget. We need to send Mayor Stampone and Council President Maha Kandis back to office, along with council candidates Mounir Almaita and Michael Johnson.”
Since 2006, Mayor Stampone has brought renewed investment into Haledon through partnerships with county, state, and federal officials. This includes a $1.7 million stimulus grant to upgrade infrastructure and protect the quality of Haledon water and a $1 million open space grant to upgrade the Roe Street Park.
“Mayor Stampone and Councilman Tirri brought new energy and focus to the Democratic Party in our borough, always putting Haledon first,” stated Martinez. “Along with Council President Maha Kandis and council candidates Mounir Almaita and Michael Johnson, we will continue making progress here in our community.”
“Mayor Stampone has been a great partner and advocate for Haledon during my time on the council,” stated Kilminster. “I am endorsing Mayor Stampone, Council President Maha Kandis, and council candidates Mounir Almaita and Michael Johnson because they are the best choice to lead Haledon into the new decade.”
